If they had a hard-working dev, he would ask the CM to talk to the community.
If you were hard-working at the first place, you wouldn't get so many crap balls thrown at you.

They gave us something unheard of, unique, fantastic, brilliant graphics and game with no-monthly-fee. They know they made mistakes and are working to correct them, and what do you hear on Guru? It's a cacophony of non-sense where a few bright lights are drowning little by little.

Yeah, they are working hard.
You know, to fix Palm Strike, you need to just double or triple the recharge. Change a 4 into a 8 or 12 and it's almost fixed.
But why try to fix? We have another month. And we can always pretend that we forgot about it, so we'll buy even more time.

I must admit, the idea seem sorta lame to be honest, BUT Linsey does have a way in surprising us in the past update. We all new about MOX, but when it went live, the quests and the imp were a nice pleasant surprise. Then the title update, storybooks and alternative to faction grind were a nice improvement. I'll hold my judgment til April because I'm sure there more than what meets the eye.

I concur.
What a disappointment. When I saw "Dev Update" I thought that it was going to be meaningful enough for me to stop playing other games, but meh.

Maybe we dont get those storage upgrade since they said their servers were full. However we will get HoM account based. But instead of storage update they will make gw2 beta life because. 1 APRIL FOOLSDAY their will be no update they just give us GW2 beta. Atleast thats what i hope. 1APRIL FTW

I'm with you here. Balance should be #1 on todo list.
Nevertheless this doesn't negate all they did. This is where there's a difference in terms of criticisms.

Nothing exciting, but at least it's something.
Still think we should get another new set of missions (not quests).

This is what we said regarding storage:
Quote:
..."when we looked at available server space, we found that this was not feasible. To increase player storage by adding new tabs, we would have needed to expand our existing server space or purchase additional servers. We are actively exploring alternative ways to relieve inventory pressure and would like to reassure players that this is an issue very much on our minds. "
|
After more investigation, we discovered that it was slightly more complex than simply storage capacity and the money to purchase more servers. There were also issues involved with the way storage was designed/programmed in the code -- and these issues couldn't be tackled with just a month or two lead time, not with the number of people we have on the Live Team.
As for the details on how it will be implemented on your side, we're still working those out.

Yay for more storage. Just out of curiosity, could you give us an estimate of how much storage we would be getting? Because if it's just one more tab I'm going to cry. Currently two characters of mine have to be used to store items. This is quite a problem for me considering I don't really want to spend $15 (my currency) on more character slots.
Anyways I think all the "QQ'ers" (I hate that term) are just "QQing" because they remember when all the updates used to bring new and exciting content. I don't think we can expect much anymore, and it doesn't help that whatever work they do gets bitched at as soon as it comes up. If I was doing a job and everything I did I got bitched at I would be less motivated each time. People have far too high expectations on what they want to see happen.

It couldn't have been fixed "almost half a year ago". When we wrote, "By spacing out our content releases, we gain the time to tackle larger and more difficult projects that, previously, would've been impossible" we weren't making that statement as a joke. Unfortunately, some projects require more than just one month of time to tackle, because they are pretty big for just two people.
I'd also like to note that the three listed features are a few of what we're working on for April.

what do you guys honestly expect? GW is a dying game and they are not making any money on it. On top of that NCSoft is in financial trouble. Do you really think they would have a lot of people working on a game with only a few thousand people playing daily? I think its reasonable and I will wait it out and collect my free z-keys in the meanwhile, they will still have skill updates. And look at MOX, we waited a while for that to come out and sure enough it was worth the wait. Im sure they aren't just going to add storage spaces (and if they do its probably going to be including key spaces, tome spaces, runes, etc).

Well, people do still visit forums and read/write the same posts for a "dead game" too, so go figure.

I'll happily take storage, HoM, and bags/packs updates along with whatever gets thrown our way. To borrow a meme....free game was free.
Getting updates after three years--getting an expanded live team--is a way of acknowledging and repaying some of the loyalty that the players have expended. It's an admission that whatever ways of doing things...could be done better. Sorry, but a company that genuinely doesn't care about you, won't invest time and money in keeping you even the least bit happy. Sure, A-Net's got a vested interest in keeping some percentage of people vaguely content--repeat customers and all that--but somewhere in what Regina and Linsey said, there's *gasp* truth. Not sure we need to parse it so critically.
I like Regina's last sentence, too. Nice tease.

I'm sorry, but I can't give you an estimate. Any estimate I could give would probably change in the future, depending on what Joe is able to do and other factors.

I challenge you to have a work mate or friend, who insults, berates and abuses you every time you open your mouth. I challenge you to eat that isht every single time it happens, smile, and carry on like it's - and you - are of no importance.
Don't tell me that it's Anet's job to suck it up and take the insults. No human being will sit around and be happily slapped in the face.
And your view of how "hard working" the dev team are is - again - your opinion, based solely on what you see on the GAME side of things. You are not sitting in their office 8/10/12 hours a day, watching them code and dealing with the business side of creating a game.
